The Heino Winter Group is a maritime services company consisting of the shipping company Heino Winter and engineering office Heino Winter as a worldwide supplier of technical shipping equipment.The shipping company Winter based in the ‘Altes Land’ fruit growing area has been operating for several generations. After World War Two, Heino’s father Jonny Winter laid the foundations for a modern coastal shipping company with the building of one of the first German container vessels MV ”Bell Venture” in the shipyard J.J. Sietas and heralded a new era for the shipping group.Following in his father`s footsteps, Heino Winter spent time at sea having passed his final exam as a maritime engineer. With the increase in shipping business Heino came ashore and began to attend to his own fleet.The shipping company Heino Winter was founded in October 1977.In 1978 the first new building MV ”Tilia” was ordered at the Howaldtswerke Deutsche Werft AG. This was to be the last vessel launched at HDW in Hamburg after more than 100 years of ship building when the yard installation slips were abandoned.With the delivery of the first vessel, Heino Winter and Gerlinde Winter shared the duties in the shipping company. While Gerlinde Winter looked after the commercial department, Heino Winter took care of the technical inspection and the planing and advancement of the shipping company.Simultaneously with the founding of the shipping company, Heino Winter as a maritime engineer began and built up the engineering office Heino Winter GmbH that took over the technical scrutineering and maintenance of its own fleet and other shipping companies. Through the demand for the supply of spare parts came the trade with equipment goods and working with this independent part of the business Heino Winter has established an international network of associated business relations.The office was primarily located at the Hamburger Fischmarkt in Altona for more than 20 years. When the demand for stock requirements increased, both the shipping and engineering offices relocated to a shared building with a large warehouse capacity in Finkenwerder being strategically close to the harbour and airport.The engineering office Heino Winter operates as the purchasing division for the shipping company Heino Winter and also supplies approximately a further 250 other vessels with spare parts and technical equipment. The range includes all consumable goods and working gear for the routine ship maintenance supply and the new building initial equipment for engine, deck, office, bridge, galley and crew.

The company is certified in accordance with ISO 9001:2000 since 1998.
